Bill Springer and Lou Vauter shared medallist honors with even par 71's at the IAA's second monthly event hosted by South Shore Country Club. Springer, on a scorecard playoff, defeated Vauter on the second hole to capture the medallist award.

Highlighting the outings this season is the "Team Challenge" event that all players are eligible. Players play in their own preferred groups as in the past. After all players have posted scores, they are flighted into four groups. Teams are then assigned one player from each group using a computerized assignment program. Teams scores are then based on a combination of the low score, middle two scores, or low three scores for a given hole, dependent upon the specific hole. In addition, players can enter the optional Team side pot for $5. And, if they are the member of the lowest scoring team, they share the pot with the others on the team who are entered. If only one player has entered the optional side pot, they win the entire pot. If no player on the winning team is in the optional pot, the next low scoring team is given the pot provided they have participating players.

Championship team members for the May outing are Bob DiCianni, Jan Orlich, John Edington and George Saboff with a score of 175. As members of the winning team, each player will be awarded a paid entry into the September Championships at The Brassie (provided they play in two monthly events). Orlich collected the entire first place share of the team prize money as she was the only member of her team to enter the optional $5 event. Orlich earned $170. Three teams shared second place at 177. Members of those teams entered in the optional cash side pot included Lou Vauter, Pete Garza, Jim Altgilbers, John Weller, Ed Furfano, and Dennis Altgilbers, each collecting $15.

The next outing is July 10th at Pheasant Valley. Players can contact the course for their tee times beginning June 25th. This will be a 7:30 am shotgun start.
