PHEASANT VALLEY
LAYOUT TAKES TOLL ON
IAA GOLFERS
VECHEY'S 74, WILCOX'S 77
ONLY GOLFERS TO BREAK 80

| Door Prizes | Summary | Team Results | Individual Results |

Dale Vechey paced the 108 IAA golfers with a fine 2-over 74, outdistancing Mark Wilcox by three shots to claim medalist honors at the IAA's third event of the summer hosted by Pheasant Valley. However, Pheasant Valley's tough layout proved to be the overwhelming winner as scores skyrocketedm requiring only an 88 to finish in the top ten.

Highlighting the outings this season is the "Team Challenge" event that all players are eligible. Players play in their own preferred groups as in the past. After all players have posted scores, they are flighted into four groups. Teams are then assigned one player from each group using a computerized assignment program. Teams scores are then based on a combination of the low score, middle two scores, or low three scores for a given hole, dependent upon the specific hole. In addition, players can enter the optional Team side pot for $5. And, if they are the member of the lowest scoring team, they share the pot with the others on the team who are entered. If only one player has entered the optional side pot, they win the entire pot. If no player on the winning team is in the optional pot, the next low scoring team is given the pot provided they have participating players.

Championship tea members for the July outing are Mark Wilcox, Dan Serrato, Lisa Misch, and Joe Grskovich. As members of the winning team, each player will be awarded a paid entry into the September Championships at The Brassie (provided they play in two monthly events). Wilcox, Serrato, and Misch will share the $345 team prize fund as they all paid the $5 entry fee in the optional side event.

The next outing is August 14th at South Shore. Players can contact the course for their tee times beginning July 31st. This event will utilize tee times beginning at 6:00 am.
